The following types of applications\/solutions (but not limited to) are expected to be funded:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Applying innovative solutions<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that leverage drone technology to address specific challenges faced by farmers, foresters, and rural communities.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Sustainable agriculture,<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as using drones to support regenerative farming methods, reduce the use of pesticides and fertilisers, and improve soil health.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Logistics and supply chain management, <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">such as for transporting goods and deliveries to remote areas, managing inventory and distribution, and monitoring supply chain operations using drones.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Infrastructure monitoring and maintenance<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, such as using drones to inspect and maintain roads, bridges and other critical infrastructure in rural areas.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Energy management,<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as using drones to monitor and optimise renewable energy systems such as wind turbines and solar panels (agrivoltaics).<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Water management, <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">such as the use of drones to monitor and manage water resources, including dams, reservoirs and irrigation systems.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Public safety,<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as the use of drones for crime prevention and law enforcement, disaster relief and response, and emergency medical services.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Who can apply?<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ICAERUS is looking for <\/span><b>agri-food producers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><b> environmental monitoring entities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>rural communities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who are either SMEs or rural community\/cooperative with a valid VAT or relevant registry number within eligible Horizon Europe countries. This include: Member States of the European Union, their outermost regions, and Overseas Countries and Territories linked to an EU Member as well as nationals of Horizon Europe associated countries.More information is provided in the Applicant\u2019s Guide which is available on the ICAERUS website.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Examples of applications eligible for funding:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Crop monitoring and analysis using drones:<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Applying software and hardware solutions for the use of drones to collect and analyse data on crops, such as growth rates, yield estimates and pest infestations.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Precision agriculture with drones:<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Applying drone-based systems for precision agriculture, e.g., for mapping soil moisture, applying fertilisers and pesticides and managing irrigation systems.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Monitoring forests and wildlife with drones:<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Applying drone systems for forest and wildlife monitoring, including habitat mapping, animal tracking and forest fire detection.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Disaster management and risk reduction using drones:<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Apply drone-based systems for disaster management, e.g., for search and rescue missions, delivery of medical supplies and providing situational awareness in disaster scenarios.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Environmental monitoring with drones: <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applying drone-based systems for environmental monitoring, e.g., for mapping water quality, measuring air pollution and tracking changes in land use.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b><i>Rural connectivity through drones: <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applying drone-based solutions for rural community connectivity, e.g., for providing internet access or communication during natural disasters.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals based on their own ideas related to the topic of ICAERUS PULL Open Calls, however in order to be eligible, proposals need to address challenges in Rural Areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Timeline\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The applications open on <\/span><b>July 8, 2024<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and closes on <\/span><b>October 16, 2024.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Sub-projects implementation will be divided into three phases: <\/span><b>Design<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Market<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, lasting a total of <\/span><b>12 months<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, beginning <\/span><b>February, 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How to apply?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Register on the Open Call Hub to apply! Full evaluation criteria will be available in the Open Call Kit documents found in the Open Call Hub.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">English is the official language for ICAERUS Open Calls. Applications submitted in any other language will not be evaluated. English is also the only official language throughout the whole execution of the ICAERUS project.
