Our primary objectives revolve around promoting energy-efficient solutions, evaluating and enhancing energy efficiency, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, and simultaneously reducing the\u00a0 carbon footprint within five regional value chains spanning five distinct food processing subsectors and countries. These value chains and their respective\u00a0 locations are as follows:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bakery \u2013 Austria (AT) <\/span><\/li>\n<li>Meat \u2013 Romania (RO)<\/li>\n<li>Water and soft drinks \u2013 Lithuania (LT)<\/li>\n<li>Winery \u2013 Bulgaria (BG)<\/li>\n<li>Dairy \u2013 Slovenia (SI)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EENOVA&#8217;s overarching goal is to guide businesses operating within these value\u00a0 chains towards the realisation and implementation of tailored energy-related\u00a0 improvements.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our methodology revolves around harnessing the <\/span><b>unique regional characteristics\u00a0 of these value chains<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, primarily consisting of small and medium-sized enterprises\u00a0 (SMEs) and larger enterprises (LEs). We achieve this by <\/span><b>identifying common steps that promote awareness, collaboration, and the effective\u00a0 implementation of energy-efficient practices <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">among individual companies\u00a0 belonging to specific food processing value chains. This focus on individual and interrelated conditions within the value chains takes into account the regional\u00a0 variations in legislation, standardisation, and business environments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The expected energy-related impact of our intervention is significant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drawing on the successes of our five case studies, EENOVA will develop an adaptable <\/span><b>replication model <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that can be applied to other value chains within the\u00a0 same or different regions and sectors. The adoption of this model will be facilitated through the <\/span><b>active involvement of key stakeholders<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including sector associations\u00a0 and representatives from the finance sector.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, our project partners collaborate closely to identify <\/span><b>innovative solutions that encompass technological enhancements, sustainable business\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>models, and necessary policy measures<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
