\n- Drone hardware and software development:<\/i><\/b> developing new hardware and software solutions to increase drone performance, extend flight time and improve data collection and analysis.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
- Data analysis and processing:<\/i><\/b> Developing new algorithms and techniques to process and analyse the data collected by drones, such as image recognition, machine learning and artificial intelligence.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
- Drone-based services:<\/i><\/b> developing new services that use drone technology, such as aerial photography, surveying, and inspection services.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
- Drone-based applications:<\/i><\/b> Developing new applications for drones, e.g., environmental monitoring, precision agriculture, disaster relief, infrastructure inspection, logistics and delivery, and security and surveillance.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Standards and regulations<\/i><\/b>: developing new standards and regulations for the safe and responsible use of drone technology, including privacy and security considerations.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n\n| What are the requirements for applicants?<\/span><\/td>\n | \n Stakeholders who are registered legal entities in eligible Horizon Europe countries. This includes: Member States of the European Union, their outermost regions, and Overseas Countries and Territories linked to an EU Member as well as nationals of Horizon Europe associated countries.<\/span><\/p>\nExamples of applications eligible for funding:<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Agriculture:<\/i><\/b> Drones can be used to monitor crop growth and health, soil quality and weather patterns, providing farmers with real-time data to optimize their operations.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
- Monitoring the environment:<\/i><\/b> Using drones to collect data on air, water and soil quality, as well as the health of flora and fauna, can help monitor and manage the environment.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
- Disaster response:<\/i><\/b> Drones can be used to quickly assess damage and provide real-time data to first responders so they can make informed decisions and save lives.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
- Infrastructure inspection<\/i><\/b>: Drones can be used to inspect and maintain infrastructure such as bridges, buildings and power lines, reducing the need for people to undertake dangerous tasks.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
- Logistics and delivery:<\/i><\/b> Drones can be used to transport goods and products in remote or hard-to-reach areas, reducing transport costs and shortening delivery times.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
- Security and surveillance:<\/i><\/b> Drones can be used to monitor and protect critical infrastructure such as airports and power plants, and to assist law enforcement agencies with surveillance and investigation.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Therefore, the main mission of the INCiTiS-FOOD project is improving food and nutrition security and reducing ecological footprint in African urban areas. As well as empowering communities through agri-food businesses along the supply and value chains, the project will also achieve environmental justice through transformative food policies. This is done through interdisciplinary research, integrated best-fit technologies, stakeholder led action, capacity-building, research-practitioner-policy collaborative engagement, and Europe-Africa partnership. To achieve these objectives, INCiTiS-FOOD will co-create circular agri-food technologies, practices, and business models for an inclusive food system in African cities and towns.<\/p>\n Using a multi-actor approach, the project involves 8 Living Labs from 6 countries in 3 African regions (East: Kenya; West: Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone; Central: Cameroon, Gabon).
